As a retailer within the State of California, we must comply with posting the following warning, as per law passed by California voters.  This law applies to any retail store that sells dishware/cookware that has ink or paint printing on the exterior of the serving piece.

Any member with more than 10 employees who sells to customers in California must comply with California Proposition 65, which requires notices about potential exposure to certain chemicals.

Our products are required to meet applicable federal standards for food safety. However, the materials used in printing the decorations found on the exterior of our ceramic and glass products listed below contain trace amounts of lead and cadmium, chemicals known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Retailers are required to place a warning sign near displays of the listed products, and e-tailers must put a warning on their websites. The warning should read as follows:

WARNING : This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive toxicity.

The method employed to transmit the warning must be reasonably calculated, considering the alternative methods available under the circumstances, to make the warning message available to the individual prior to exposure. This warning requirement applies to all sales to California residents and to products shipped into California. However, small businesses with less than 10 employees are exempt from the warning requirement of Proposition 65. You should refer to the website of the California Office of Envirornmental Health Hazard Assessment, http://www.oehha.org/prop65.html , for information about the requirements of Proposition 65 and its applicability to you.
